Seuls en Scène Presents “Les Mains négatives & Aujourd’hui est un autre jour

“Les Mains négatives & Aujourd’hui est un autre jour (c’était mieux demain)” Les Mains négatives (directed by Pierre Giafferi and performed by  Hélène Rencurel, Clément Bondu & Pierre Giafferi) is adapted from texts by Marguerite Duras. It’s pitch black, lit only by the moon. The hotel sign glows like an alarm. Tonight, in front of this hotel on the beach, a man and a woman who once loved each other meet again. They’ve come to open their hearts to each other. Like actors, these birds of night flock together to speak at last. Now separated, they summon up their common past – again, like actors, who work each night to bring forgotten words back to life.

Aujourd’hui est un autre jour (c’était mieux demain) is a musical poem in multiple voices, evokes violent desires, a search for the absolute, impossible love, and an eternity regained. Wandering the dead zones of history, lost in a time without dreams, ghosts appear and sing of despair, hope, and the difficulty of trust, to the sounds of guitars and electronics. Directed and written by Clément Bondu and performed by Hélène Rencurel, Pierre Giafferi & Julien Drion.
