UPDATED: Rec. Board Member Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct Against a 16-year-old

Police announce the arrest more than a month later, but officials say there is no concern for public safety. The man has taken a leave of absence from Princeton's Joint Recreation Board.

A 48-year-old Princeton massage therapist was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal sexual contact against a 16-year-victim on Feb. 16, but the incident has only been made public as of today, Friday, March 23.  Maximillian Shane, of the 200 block of Mt Lucas Rd. was arrested and charged with the fourth degree crimes, following an alleged incident that happened in Princeton Borough on Feb. 11, according to Princeton Borough Police.  Shane posted $10,000 bail and was released.  Shane is a local massage therapist and has been a member of Princeton's Joint Recreation Board for the past five years. Eighteen Vehicles Burglarized in Princeton Borough

Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked.

  Between Friday, March 16 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 at 8:30 a.m., 18 vehicles in Princeton Borough were broken into and items stolen from each, according to Princeton Borough Police.  The locations of the theft were: All of the vehicles were unlocked and parked in driveways. All and the items stolen were in plain view from outside, police said.  Stolen items included cash, purses, credit cards, electronics and miscellaneous items. A bicycle was also stolen from an unlocked garage. An investigation continues. Anybody with information related to these incidents should contact the Princeton Borough Police Department Detective Bureau at 609-924-4141.

To avoid a similar fate, follow the advice of the police and lock your car. It is my understanding that all of the break-ins involved unlocked cars. Believe it or not, even a town like Princeton can have crime.   more ›

New York Woman Charged With Shoplifting from Zoe

The incident happened on Sunday, March 18.

  A 25-year-old woman from New York City was arrested on Sunday and charged with shoplifting after police said she tried to steal more than $1,500 in clothing from Zoe on Hullfish Street Siena Zhu, of West 14th Street, was arrested after a Zoe store employee contacted Princeton Borough Police and they determined that Zhu was trying to steal $1,595 worth of clothing.  The incident happened at 6 p.m.  All the clothing was recovered and Zhu was arrested, processed and released. She is due in court on March 26.

Princeton Woman Charged with DWI Trying to Exit Spring Street Garage

The incident happened on Saturday, March 17

  A 30-year-old Princeton woman was arrested and charged with DWI after police say she tried to exist the Spring Street parking garage, but was unable to negotiate the exit.  The incident happened on Saturday, March 17 shortly before 4 p.m.  Lora Demarffy-Mantuano, of Carter Road, was arrested and released after Princeton Borough Police arrived on scene and found Demarffy-Mantuano to be driving while intoxicated. 

Two Men Charged With Alcohol Violations on St. Patrick's Day

Borough Police said the incident happened around 11:30 p.m.

  Two men were arrested and charged with alcohol violations on Saturday, March 17 after Princeton Borough Police say a 26-year old man was observed providing alchol to another man who was under legal age.  The incident happened on Witherspoon Street on  Saturday around 11:30 p.m.  Police said Barry Gramajo, 26, of Redding Circle Princeton was observed providing alcoholic beverages to Miles Johnson, 20, of Gallaway Lane, Willingboro.  Gramajo was charged with providing alcoholic beverages to a minor and Johnson was charged with possession of alcoholic beverages by a minor Both men were released and are due in court on March 26.

Princeton Man Charged with Violating a Restraining Order, Contempt and Harrasment

He was released on $5,000 bail.

  A 41-year-old Princeton man was arrested on Thursday, March 15 and charged with contempt of court, violation of a restraining order and harrassment after police say he allegedly violated the terms of a final restraining order and harrassed the victim.  Michael Zingaro, of the first block of Witherspoon Street, was arrested and released on $5,000 bail.   The incident happened on March 9 on Witherspoon Street, according to Princeton Borough Police. It was reported on March 15 around 7:30 p.m.  The victim's identify is being kept confidential.  Zingaro is scheduled to appear in court on March 26.

Princeton Borough Police Log, Feb. 26-27

Incidents include a robbery and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

  An 18-year-old Princeton Borough resident was arrested on Feb. 27 following a robbery investigation on MacLean Street.   Jordan Walden, 18, of the 200 block of John Street was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. on Feb. 27 and charged with robbery. He is in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.  The arrest happened after an alleged victim told police someone tried to forcibly take his cash on Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. The victim said he managed to escape with all of his cash intact. Walden is due in court on March 5. Anyone who has been similarly victimized or witnessed similar incidents in Princeton Borough is asked to call police at 609-921-8108.     A 20-year-old Willingboro man was arrested on Feb. 27 and charged with possession of Marijuana under 50 …

Princeton Borough Police Log, Feb. 4-5

Incidents include two arrests for driving while intoxicated.

  A 66-year-old Princeton resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Saturday after Princeton Borough Police stopped a motor vehicle on Nassau Street because the driver allegedly failed to keep right. Bernard Shihar, of Springwood Court, was arrested, charged and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 13. The incident happened on Saturday at 1:43 a.m.   A 32-year-old Mommouth resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Sunday after Princeton Borough Police conducted an investigation of a vehicle blocking the entrance to the Park Place parking lot. Man Arrested After Fight at Brewery

Borough police arrest a man from Baltimore.

  Princeton Borough Police arrested a man late Sunday night following a fight at Triumph Brewery.  The incident happened at 11:53 p.. when police were called to a fight in progress at the bar, located in the 100 block of Nassau Street.  One of the people involved fled the scene, but police caught up to him on South Tulane Street. Police arrested Andrew Torge, 27, of Baltimire, Md., with obstructing the adminstration of law.  Torge was released and is due in court on May 23.  **Editor's Note: A plea agreement in this case was made on 5/19/11. Torge pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, an ordinance violation for being a disorderly person "obstructing or interfering with the free and lawful use of any public or private property."
