U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team Trains at Princeton University

  Princeton University is home to world class scholars, students and athletes- and for the next two weeks, 28 members of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. The Olympic hopefuls arrived in Princeton on May 10 for a two-week intensive training camp before the team faces China on May 27 in Chester, Pa., U.S. Women’s Soccer spokesman Aaron Heifetz said. He said the team was looking for a training location in or close to Philadelphia. “Our men’s team had a good experience (at Princeton) before the World Cup in 2010 and look at this…” Heifetz said on Thursday morning, gesturing around Roberts Stadium where the team was practicing. “It’s fantastic.” The team’s match May 27 will be its second to last domestic match before leaving for the 2012 …

Little Tigers fall to Redbirds 11-5

The team plays the Spartans of Steinert today.

Princeton High School’s baseball team captain and senior pitcher Clay Alter took the mound Thursday afternoon for the Little Tigers as they faced off against the Redbirds of Allentown High School. Princeton took a one-run lead early in the top of the second inning, but Allentown responded with three runs in the third inning and never looked back, winning by a score of 11-5. Alter pitched the first three innings, holding the Redbirds to only three runs, but the wheels fell off in the fourth inning when Allentown was able to score eight runs. Pitcher Andrew Frain entered the game to relieve Alter in the fourth, but Allentown continued to score runs. Let the Tebowmania begin! The highly-praised but heavily-scrutinized quarterback will be suiting up in green and white next season after being traded Wednesday to the New York Jets for two draft picks. The announcement Tuesday that former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning had officially signed with the Denver Broncos not only made the Broncos an immediate playoff contender, it also meant media darling Tim Tebow was out of a starting job. No longer the starter, rumors began to fly Tuesday night that Tebow would be traded, with the Jets considered a possible destination. Princeton Women Heading to Connecticut

Tigers earn ninth seed after finishing 24-4 to rank 24th nationally.

The Princeton women's basketball team will open the NCAA tournament on Saturday with a game versus Kansas State in Bridgeport, Conn. Princeton is the ninth seed in the western bracket, which also includes top-seeded Connecticut. Fellow Central Jersey school Rutgers is the sixth seed out west. Princeton is the first nationally ranked Ivy women’s basketball program in conference history and earned the Ivy League automatic bid for the third consecutive season with a perfect 14-0 conference record. Baylor is the overall top seed in the tournament.

The Hun School Celebrates Season With Winter Sports Banquet

The evening celebrated the season's highlights: players were honored with coaches' awards, most valuable player honors and the Dan Little Award.

On Wednesday, Feb 29, Hun School varsity winter sports teams came together in the school’s dining hall to celebrate the successful seasons of the basketball, fencing, ice hockey and swimming teams. Highlighted by a second-place finish for the boys’ basketball team in the MAPL Tournament, a second-place finish for the ice hockey team in the IHL Championship, and two state titles for the fencing team in girls’ epee and boys’ sabre, the Athletic Department had much to commend.   Awards were also presented to individuals for distinction as most valuable player and coaches’ award recipients. Most valuable player awards were presented to the member of each team who, in the opinions of the coaches, contributed most significantly to the success …

Going to the Giants Parade? NJ Transit has the Way

The parade begins at Battery Park and Washington Street in Lower Manhattan at 11 a.m.

  NJ Transit will offer extra bus service on 18 routes, increase capacity on select, previously-scheduled trains and add customer service ambassadors at Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal on Tuesday to accommodate Giants fans attending the Super Bowl victory ticker-tape parade in Lower Manhattan.  The parade will begin at Battery Place and Washington Street at 11 a.m. and continue north up the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street, followed by a ceremony at City Hall Plaza. Traveling to the parade Fans celebrating the Giants win can access the parade route from several NYC Subway stations, as well as PATH’s World Trade Center Station.  Customers should use
