Princeton Public Library presents a staged reading of Anon(ymous) by Naomi Iizuka. Separated from his family by war, a young refugee calling himself "Anon" encounters a wild series of people -- some kind, some dangerous -- as he searches for a new home in the U.S. From a sinister one-eyed butcher to beguiling barflies to a sweatshop, Anon must navigate a chaotic, ever-changing landscapeFeaturing local teens who have spent the week studying The Odyssey and preparing to perform this play. Community Room, 2-3 p.m. & 6-7 p.m. 

Bring your blanket and chairs and head over to Mercer County Park to hear Tramps Like Us, a Bruce Springsteen tribute bandperform at the Marina from 6-8 p.m.

Princeton Forrestal Village presents its free Hot-Hits Rock'n'Roll Gala at 7 p.m., featuring 60s chart-toppers The Dovells and Lights Out (Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute band), The Sleepless Knights R&B Band and the WOGL Oldies Radio prize wheel. First-come/First-serve seating available or Bring your own chairs, blankets and refreshments. Rain date is Saturday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.

Join the Coalition for Peace Action and travel together by chartered bus to Washington, D.C. for the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. Bus will leave Princeton Shopping Center & Hamilton AMC Theater at approximately 5 a.m. Arrive at the Lincoln Memorial in time for the major rally with the Rev. Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King III and others, and then march half a mile to the MLK Memorial to close the day. Leave Washington at approximately 4 p.m. Call (609) 924-5022 during business hours and use a credit card to reserve by phone.

Macy's partners with Junior League of Greater Princeton for the store's eighth annual "Shop For A Cause" charity shopping event beginning at 10 a.m. The Junior league will sell shopping passes for $5 each and keep 100 percent of the ticket proceeds. To purchase a shopping pass, click here. 

Yoga on the Great Lawn at Morven Museum. All ages and skill levels welcome. Bring a yoga mat, towel and water. Free. Noon.

Quaker Bridge Mall will host an interactive back-to-school event on Saturday at 1 p.m. to help kids and their parents "make the grade" before the school year begins. The event, held in the Center Court, will feature interactive activities for children and valuable offers for adults, all designed to help with the transitioning into academic routines a little easier. Featuring Wondergy, an interactive science teacher from Philadelphia who promises to "Bring Science Education and Fun Together." 1 p.m.

Outdoor Concert on the Palmer Square Green. Featuring Big Funk, 2-4 p.m. 

Bring your blanket and chairs and head over to Mercer County Park to hear Satisfaction, an international touring Rolling Stones tribute show, perform at the Marina from 6-8 p.m.

Princeton Public Library will screen the film "Holes" at 6:30 p.m. 

Cafe Improv at the Arts Council of Princeton, featuring music, poetry and comedy. Registration required to perform, $2, 7 p.m. 

Sunday


The Historical Society of Princeton will lead a two-hour walking tour of downtown Princeton and Princeton University, including stories about the early history of Princeton, the founding of the University and the American Revolution. $7; $4 for ages 6 to 12., 2-4 p.m. 

Trenton Thunder v. Portland at 5:05 p.m. It's Bark at the Park Night where well behaved dogs may accompany their owners with the purchase of a regular priced adult ticket. 5:05 p.m.
