Events in Princeton This Week

Looking for things to do in and around Princeton this week? Here are some highlights.

Monday

Trenton Downtown Association presents a day of activities, including a Military History: Affair at Egg Harbor at 11 a.m., followed by a 'Punch and Judy' puppet show at noon and more.

Enjoy a multimedia light show in Cranbury, featuring
 10,000 “Shooting Fountain of Light”, a 20 foot by 20 foot wall of snowflakes with 6,400 lights and the front lawn covered in 25,000 lights. 6-9 p.m. 

Tuesday

New Jersey State Museum's Planetarium hosts a Holiday Laser Lights' show.  11 a.m. and 1 p.m. 

Princeton men's basketball team will host Kent State. In addition to the game, there will be a bounce house and face painting beginning at 11 a.m. when the doors open and again at halftime. There will also be a post-game autograph session featuring the whole team. Autograph books will be distributed. Noon.

Catch A Rising Star Comedy Club's New Year's Eve Celebration with comedian Jeff Norris and Renee Delorenzo. Hyatt Regency Princeton, 8 p.m. 

New Jersey Capital Philharmonic performs a New Year's Eve Concert,, 'Spellbound Concerto' featuring Gabriela Imreh on piano, plus works by Bernstein, Liszt, Strauss, and more. 8 p.m. 

Singles New Year’s Eve Dance Party and Social. Enjoy dancing to your favorite hits from the 60's to the present. Leave your resolutions at home; just come and have a good time. Hats, Noisemakers and tiaras for everyone. Includes non-alcoholic toast at midnight. Holiday Inn Princeton, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. 

Wednesday

A real-time tour of the Princeton Battlefield. William P. Tatum III, a British army historian, traces the steps of American and British units at the same time of day as the original Battle of Princeton. Wear warm clothes and boots and head to Princeton Battlefield Park. Register. 7:30 to 9:30 a.m

Power walk to the scenic overlook at the top of the St. Michael's Farm Preserve in Hopewell. 
Register. 8 a.m.

Free New Year's Hot Yoga at Princeton Yoga. Twenty-six sequenced postures practiced in a heated room. Work deep into your muscles, tendons and ligaments - change your body from the inside out. Increases flexibility, improves circulation and reduces stress, 6 p.m.


Friday

Author Laura Crockett ("Mary Stumpf at the Battle of Princeton") at the Princeton Public Library. The Battle of Princeton took place on the frigid morning of January 3, 1777. The danger and excitement of that day are seen through the eyes of the 12 year old heroine of the new novel, "Mary Stumpf at the Battle of Princeton." Crockett will describe the events of that took place 237 years ago on the Thomas Clarke farm. A book signing will follow. Story Room, 4 p.m.
