"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Release Party and More

Looking for things to do in and around Princeton this week? Here are some highlights.

Monday

Reading Lab at the Princeton Public Library. Young readers are welcome to come read alone, with a buddy, or with a Reading Therapy Dog in a cozy corner at the library. Meet Reading Therapy Dog Emma and her owner Joe Turner, who have been listening to great stories at the library for years. New and struggling readers are welcome to come and gain confidence and develop fluency.  No registration is required, and readers of all levels are welcome. Story Room, 4 p.m. 

Tuesday

Barnes & Nobel Princeton will host a "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Release Party, including bingo, trivia, activities and snacks. MarketFair Mall, 4 p.m. 

Thursday

Princeton University Concerts presents the St. Lawrence String Quartet. Works by Haydn, R. Murray Schafer and Dvorak. Preconcert begins at 7 p.m., concert begins at 8 p.m. Richardson Auditorium.  

Friday

The Arts Council of Princeton presents "Sound Bites" featuring Tom Neilson. Neilson provides a voice for all those who believe in the power of folk music to effect change. He will discuss his inspiration, process and craft throughout the performance to demonstrate the grassroots of folk music. 8 p.m.
