Books and Beer on Tap in New Library Program

Monthly discussion group will meet at the Nassau Inn's Yankee Doodle Tap Room.

A new book group called Books on Tap will meet monthly this summer in the at the Nassau Inn. Coordinated by librarian Kristin Friberg, the group will discuss selected works starting with J.R. Moehringer’s “The Tender Bar” on June 26 at 7 p.m.

Karen Russell’s “Swamplandia!” will be the selection discussed on July 24, and “Stone Arabia” by Dana Spiotta is the topic on Aug. 28. Participants who bring their library card will get selected beer specials and a 10 percent discount on any appetizer.

“With the start of summer, we are excited to introduce this new book group to Princeton,” Friberg said. “It's an opportunity to meet new friends and discuss books in a very relaxed setting."

"By scheduling Books on Tap in the evening, and at The Tap Room, we are looking forward to reaching a wider demographic than we normally reach during daytime hours," Friberg said.  'Participants just need to remember three things: Read the book so you can chime in on the discussion; bring your library card to get drink and appetizer discounts; and be prepared to have fun.”
