Princeton, Yale to Continue Hockey Rivalry During Liberty Invitational

Princeton and Yale will meet for the 250th time during the tournament on Oct. 31. Yale leads the series, 138-102-9.

The Princeton University men's hockey team will face rival Yale for the 250th time during the second annual Liberty Hockey Invitational on Halloween night.

Princeton meets Yale in the second game of the four-team tournament at the Prudential Center on Friday night, Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m. The game will preceded by a meeting between the University of Connecticut and Merrimack College at 4:30 p.m.

The winners meet on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 2, 4 p.m.

Princeton and Yale first met on Jan. 19, 1901, a game won by the Tigers, 5-0. Yale leads the series, 138-102-9.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 1, 10 a.m. at www.ticketmaster.com, and on Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Prudential Center box office.

Ticket prices are $45 and $60 for all-session passes and $25 and $35 for individual games. Special discounts for students and alumni are available through each school’s athletic department ticket office and alumni association.

The inaugural Liberty Hockey Invitational took place last season, and was won by Brown University. Princeton and Yale also participated in that event, as did Dartmouth.
