Stuart Students, Faculty Donate Locks of Love

Seventeen students and faculty members from Stuart County Day School, had their hair cut on Tuesday to donate to children with permanent hair loss.

The donation was part of Stuart's 13th Annual Locks of Love event.

Stylists from Metropolis Spa and Salon in Princeton donated their time and talents, giving complimentary haircuts to the children and adults who donated hair.

Since the project began more than a dozen years ago, the Stuart community has donated more 240 ponytails to Locks of Love. The organization uses the ponytails to make human hair wigs for children with permanent hair loss, enabling these children to take part in regular activities such as ballet, gymnastics and swimming.

Stuart encourages young women to go out and change the world – and each year Stuart girls, from kindergarten through high school, are compelled to donate their hair as a way to help children who receive these special wigs build confidence and self esteem – changing the world one child at a time.
