Five-time Emmy winner Doris Roberts is one of Hollywood's queens of comedy, and proves that you don't have to be 20 something and on a list of sexiest women alive to make it in Tinsel Town. You can catch her live at the State Theatre in New Brunswick on Monday, January 14th. She heads off SmartTalk's  2013 lecture series. Tickets are still available!

Roberts has been acting on Broadway since the 50s, and has had successful film and television careers. She even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But solely being an actress doesn't define her. She's also a philanthropist, U.S. Cultural Ambassador, animal rights advocate, and avid cook.

I love the Smarttalk series because you can not only hear about the wonderful careers of the strong women chosen to speak, but you hear about their challenges, and they help inspire you. In addition, the audience gets to write down questions to ask the speakers, and at the end they have time to answer most of them.

You'll probably remember her from the TV shows Angie, Remington Steele or Everybody Loves Raymond, or perhaps the movies National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Aliens in the Attic, or the recent Madea's Witness Protection. Doris Roberts never fails to make you laugh.
