Trenton, New Jersey – The Village Charter School (VCS) is pleased to announce that Dale G. Caldwell has been appointed the Head of School and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dale brings extensive education and business experience to this unique public school. He has been the President of the Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission (MRESC) for twelve years and a member of the New Brunswick Board of Education for fifteen years. In 2009 he was named the New Jersey School Board Member of the Year. Prior to that he received the New Jersey Pride Award in Education from New Jersey Monthly Magazine. He was also one of the three finalists for the position of Superintendent of the Trenton Board of Education.
VCS Board President Patty Schorr stated “We are excited to have Dale lead our school. The Board believes that his leadership experience combined with his knowledge of education will enable him to be an exceptional Head of School.”
Dale graduated from Princeton University and received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in State and Local Government program. Dale said “I am grateful to the VCS Board for giving me an opportunity to lead this school at a very important time in its history. The school has an amazing group of administrators and teachers. I am convinced that with the right focus on student academic proficiency we can become a model educational institution.”
Dale’s professional experience includes serving as the CEO of Strategic Influence, LLC; the Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA); the Executive Director of the Newark Alliance; and, as a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting. Dale is the author of Intelligent Influence; School To Work To Success; Fruit of the Spirit Poems and Hymns; and Tennis in New York.
