The List: Brick Streets Approved for Power Restoration

Inspections took place through Tuesday

Brick officials have released a list of streets approved for power restoration following inspections completed Monday and Tuesday.

Township officials blasted JCP&L's protocols during a council meeting Tuesday, saying the utility changed policies in the midst of storm cleanup, leaving township residents in the dark by requiring inspections of neighborhoods.

"To me, the change of protocol is just a delay on their part," said Council President John Ducey. "Something is wrong with JCP&L, the whole situation stinks. Whether [your electric] is out or not, put in a complaint to BPU (Board of Public Utilities)."

Brick Patch will have a followup article on what led to the inspection requirement in the coming days.

Right or wrong, I have to give the Mayor credit for standing up to JCP&L. But he is only one person. The Governor has his hands full also. What bothers me the most is the total absence of the State Legislators, both Senate and Assembly as well as the Federal Legislators, both House and Senate. The only time you see these clowns is before Election Day. Oh and let’s not forget the County slugs. Has any one of these people held a press conference, visited the area, or interviewed the people affected? The answer is no. Remember this when they are up for re-election.

I don't know if bits of hopeful-sounding info is good or not. Here we are facing another long cold night, while the town bulletin crows about phony lists of restored streets.

I'm so very sorry for your hardship Lisa and pray ya'll get power back soon. I can't blame anyone for this cause this storm just straight up kicked our butts. I think about the folks who lost it all, n those with no power every day n pray for a good out come cause that's all I can do. Wish I owned a magic wand so I could wave over everyone with power or a home an fix it all. But all I can do is hope for the best for everyone effected
