Princeton Municipal Director Bruschi Expected to Retire

Kathryn Monzo, Assistant Administrator and Director of Finance is seen as a viable candidate to fill the position.

According to the Princeton Packet, Princeton officials are hoping to hire a new municipal administrator by the end of September.

Current director Robert W. Bruschi is expected to retire before the end of the year and has worked in municipal government for 38 years.

Last October, Bruschi and the town reached an agreement on his final contract slated to last through 2014, including a $180,000 salary. Bruschi is the highest-ranking and the highest-paid official in Princeton’s municipal government.

There has been much speculation about Assistant Administrator Kathryn Monzo replacing Bruschi. He has previously stated that Monzo is being trained and getting administrator experience.

“Whether that ends up being in Princeton or somewhere else, that’s experience that will do her very well down the line. She’s extremely capable,” said Bruschi, according to the Princeton Packet.

There is no confirmation regarding the status of her application and whether or not she intends to apply for the position.

Job seekers are expected to apply to the position by July 14 and semi-finalists will be chosen by July 25.

“Officials then would interview the semi-finalists on September 9 and then interview finalists and then select someone the week ending September 27,” reports the Princeton Packet.

The overall goal is to have the new municipal administrator start working in late October.

"If he leaves, we would not pay him. Of course not," said Councilwoman Jenny Crumiller, reports the Princeton Packet.
