Group Raises $500,000 Toward Princeton's Community Park Pool

The pool opened in 2011 and underwent renovations last year.

The Princeton Parks and Recreation Fund has raised about half a million since 2011 in its effort to knock out the debt associated with the Community Park Pool, nj.com reports.

The stainless steel pool, originally opened in 2011, saw the introduction of more amenities, perks and increased prices when it reopened on Memorial Day last year.

Since 2011, the Princeton Parks and Recreation Fund has collected 304 donations for about $500,000, according to the report. It originally said it would contribute $1 million.

To make up the rest, the town has several options, including raising fees, according to the report. Council is also working on a resolution to amend the original agreement prohibiting the group from raising funds for other projects until the full $1 million is raised, according to the report.
