A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service announced on Monday.

Excessive heat throughout central and southern New Jersey is expected to give way to showers and severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon. Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding.
