FEMA's Mercer In-Person Disaster Aid Site Closes Today

Federal Disaster Recovery Center at Mercer County Community College will close at the end of business today, Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will close its Disaster Recovery Center at Mercer County Community College at the end of business today, according to Mercer County officials.

The agency has also extended its registration deadline for renters, homeowners and business owners who suffered damage from Hurricane Irene until Nov. 30 to register for federal assistance.

FEMA representatives can provide information on federal disaster aid. Those who suffered storm damage should be prepared with a list items lost or damaged in the floods.

FEMA will continue to accept registrations by internet or phone. To register, visit www.disasterassistance.govm.fema.gov or call 800-621-3362 (FEMA).

Those with access or functional needs and who use a TTY may call 800-462-7585 or use 711 or Video Relay Service to call 800-621-3362. Telephone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET; multilingual operators are available.
