UPDATED: Woman Struck by Car on Harrison Street

A 24-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Tuesday.

 

A 24-year-old woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Valley and Harrison Streets in Princeton Township.

Rachel M. Benoit, of Allentown, Pa., was taken to the University Medical Center at Princeton with non-life threatening injuries, according to Township Police.

The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. 

When police arrived on the scene, they found Benoit lying in the middle of the road. An investigation revealed that she Benoit had crossed North Harrison Street in the crosswalk but failed to activate the crosswalk signal by pushing the button. She was struck by a vehicle driven by 
Daniel F. Fiorell, 30, of East Windsor, which was turning left onto North Harrison Street from the Princeton Shopping Center.

Benoit complained of cuts to the head and scrapes and bruises on both knees, police said.
