Vehicle Rolls into Stony Brook

The accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday.

A vehicle rolled down an embankment on Quaker Road on Sunday afternoon, landing upside down in Stony Brook, Princeton Fire Department Chief Dan Tomalin said.

The accident happened at about 5:45 p.m. when a woman driving along Quaker Road felt ill, stopped by the side of the road, and got out of the vehicle, Tomalin said.

The woman, whose name was not immediately available, apparently forgot to put the vehicle in park and it rolled down the embankment.

Traffic was closed in both directions for about 20 minutes, Tomalin said. The overturned vehicle was pulled out of the water and towed away.

A small amount of engine fluid ended up in the brook, so fire officials set up multiple eight-foot-long Hazmat booms meant to soak the fluids from the water, Tomalin said.

The driver was taken by ambulance to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.

Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad and Princeton Township Police also responded.
