Vehicle Fire on Route 206 Closes Road Briefly

Fuel leak may have caused pickup truck blaze, no injuries reported.

A vehicle fire closed Route 206 just of Cherry Hill Road for about 45 minutes on Wednesday. 

Princeton Township Police reported receiving several 911 calls shortly after noon reporting a vehicle fire. 

When police arrived at the scene, they found a Ford pickup truck belonging to Lakeside Towing of Trenton on fire.

Police and Princeton firefighters put out the fire while traffic was detoured onto adjacent streets. 

The preliminary cause of the fire was suspected to be a vehicle fuel leak. The driver, Waldemar Bonilla-Ruiz of Trenton, was taken to the University Medical Center at Princeton as a precaution.

Also responding to the scene were  Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Princeton Bureau of Fire Safety and Mercer County Fire Police.
