Strong Winds Capsize Boat on Lake Carnegie, No One Injured

A Police officer responding to the accident was involved in a crash that sent two people to the hospital.

Strong winds capsized a boat carrying two men on Lake Carnegie on Sunday afternoon, but no one was hurt.

It was shortly after noon when Princeton Police and Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad responded to Princeton-Kingston Road near Shadybrook Lane after receiving a report that a boat had overturned.

The boat passengers, two men from Princeton in their early 40's, had already swum to shore by the time officers arrived. Neither was injured and both refused treatment at the scene.

A Princeton Police officer responding to the scene was traveling east on Princeton Kingston Road near Dodds Lane with lights and sirens on, when the car in front of the officer turned and the cruiser struck the vehicle.

Two passengers in the non-police vehicle – a 28-year old female from Princeton and a 13-year-old male from Princeton were transported to a local hospital for a complaint of pain. The officer was treated and released at the scene.
