Soccer Team Dedicates Tournament Play to Princeton EMT

The New Jersey Heroes Soccer League, a Jersey-City based team of law enforcement officers and first responders, will dedicate its 2011 World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament play to Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad EMT Michael Kenwood.

The team will offer a moment of silence for Kenwood today, Oct. 9, at 180 9th Street in Jersey City before flying out of JFK International Airport to the Netherlands. 

WPIST officials have also agreed to dedicate a moment of silence in Kenwood’s memory before the team's first overseas match. 

The 39-year-old East Windsor father was a longtime EMT with a respected record of dedicated service to his community.  He is survived by his wife and three-year old daughter.

The soccer tournament, which runs from Oct. 10-14, will feature more than 180 teams from more than 40 countries. New Jersey Heroes is the first team from New Jersey and the only team from the U.S. in this year's tournament.
