Princeton Man Charged With Lewdness After Allegedly Peering Into Community Park Pool

The man was taken into federal custody.

A 26-year-old Princeton man was arrested on Monday afternoon after he was reported peering into the Community Park Pool area and touching himself inappropriately, according to police.

The incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30.

Marco Tulio Davila-Hernendez, of John Street, was arrested and charged with lewdness, for which he would have been released on his own recognizance. But the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement notified police that they would take custody and they collected Davila-Herandez on Tuesday morning, Township Police Sgt. Michael Cifelli said.

Police said they were notified that a man was on the Community Park School property adjacent to the pool and he was looking into the pool area while touching himself. The man fled before police arrived, but Davila-Hernendez was found a short time later on John Street and identified by witnesses in the area, police said.

Police said it didn't appear that Davila-Hernendez was looking at a specific target.

Cifelli said anytime police enter a complaint in the court administration system, they are prompted to give USICE notification. In this case, federal immigration officials chose to take custody of Davila-Hernendez, he said.
