Police Blotter: Stolen Jewelry, Car Theft and More

The following police incidents were reported by Princeton Borough Police for the period Dec. 8 - Dec. 12.

 

On Dec. 8 at 1:47 a.m., a Plainsboro man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop for failure to keep right on Nassau Street. 

Phillip Schaeffer, 39, of Plainsboro was charged with DWI and released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17.

Police report that a vehicle was stolen from Cameron Court between Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 and were two attempted vehicle thefts during the same period.

According to police, a locked and unattended 2007 BMW was stolen from Cameron Court. Two locked vehicles on North Stanworth drive also had the door locks punched out, but neither was stolen. Someone also gained entry to an unlocked fourth vehicle on South Stanworth Drive and stole a portable GPS unit. 

Police believe the incidents are connected. An investigation continues.


A Trenton woman was arrested and charged with theft by deception after police say an investigation revealed that she used stolen gift cards to buy $2,645 worth of merchandise at Hamilton Jewelers on Nassau Street in September. 

Kali Williams, 23, of Trenton, turned herself in to Princeton Borough Police on Wednesday, Dec. 12, police said. Williams was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16.
