Police Blotter: Fire, Theft, Accident, and Suspected LSD

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Township Police for the period Sept. 13-14.

 

On Sept. 13 at 2:32 p.m., Princeton Township Police, Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad responded to the John Witherspoon Middle School on Walnut Lane for a report of smoke and fire. And investigation revealed that the fire began in a "D" wing electrical panel while work was being done on the panel. Damage was contained to the panel. Students were evacuated and then dismissed for the day. 

On Sept. 14 at 1:15 p.m. the owner of a business in the 100 block of Bayard Lane reported that on on Aug. 28, services were provided to someone who was unable to make payment after their credit card was rejected. Arrangements were made to have the payment made in cash the next day, but that never happened. An investigation continues.

On Sept. 14 at 2:34 p.m., police investigated an accident in the Princeton Shopping Center parking lot. An investigation revealed that a Honda owned by Rose Haggerty, 53, of Skillman was parked when it was struck by a Honda driven by Meiying Huang, 48, of Princeton. No one was injured. Huang was issued a summons for careless driving. 

On Sept. 14 at 11:39 p.m., police were alerted to the possible use a controlled dangerous substance by several juveniles in the area of Princeton Community Village. An investigation revealed that two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were in possession of suspected LSD. They were arrested, processed and later released a parent.
