Police Blotter: DWI/Eluding and Drug Charges

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Police between Friday, Feb. 22 and Sunday, Feb. 24.

 

A 37-year-old Franklin Park man was arrested at 2 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22 after police say they discovered a vehicle stopped in the travel lane on Carnegie Drive and the driver inside sleeping. 

The driver, Niraj Patel, fled in his vehicle, but was police caught him several minutes later on Princeton Kingston Road.

Patel was arrested and charged with DWI/Eluding. He was released and is due in court on March. 4.

A 23-year-old Princeton man was arrested at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24 after police say they found him smoking marijuana from a 'water bong' and in possession of marijuana under 50 grams. 

James Beggs, of the 200 block William Livingston Court was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance/possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Police said they responded to the residence for a welfare/residence check. They found Beggs after they entered the home with the property owner. 

Beggs was released and is due in court on March 4.
