Police Blotter: Burglaries, Theft and Car Accidents

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Township Police for the period between Aug. 16-18, 2012.

 

On Aug. 16 at 12:08 p.m., a motor vehicle accident in the 300 block of Alexander Street. Police said a Toyota owned by Anthony Vitella, 54, of Titusville was parked in a driveway on Alexander Street when it was struck by a Lexus driven by Margaret Giampietro, 77, of West Windsor after the Lexus left the road for an unexplained reason. Giampietro was issued a summons for careless driving.

On Aug. 16 at 3:10 p.m., a burglary in the 100 block of Springdale Road. An investigation showed that sometime over the past day, someone forced entry to the rear of the home. It was not immediately known what was missing.

On Aug. 16 at 3:51 p.m., a motor vehicle accident. An Isuzu box truck driven by Jerome Williams, 34, of East Windsor, and a Lexus driven by David Wetherill, 70, of Princeton were both driving south on State Road near the intersection of Herrontown Road when Williams' vehicle hit the back of Wetherill's car. The Lexus had to be towed from the scene and Williams was issued a summons for careless driving.

On Aug. 16 at 6:39 p.m., a burglary in 500 block of Prettybrook Road. The victim reported that sometime since July 12, someone broke a window and entered the house and stole jewelry totaling approximately $10,000. An investigation continues.

On Aug. 16 at 8:07 p.m., a two-vehicle accident. Police said a truck driven by Joseph Prieth, 33, of Morrisville and a Honda driven by Hina Patel, 39, of Hillsborough were both stopped at stop sign on Jefferson Rd. at State Road when the truck backed into the Honda for an unknown reason. Both vehicles were driven from the scene, and Prieth was issued a summons for careless driving. 

On Aug. 17 at 4:23 p.m., criminal mischief to a motor vehicle in the first block of Billie Ellis Lane. The caller reported that sometime over prior three days someone scratched her vehicle with a sharp object. The repair cost was not immediately known and no additional reports were received. 

On Aug. 17 at 4:34 p.m., a theft in the 100 block of Herrontown Road. The caller reported that sometime that afternoon, someone took his mountain bike from his driveway. The value of the bike was not immediately known. 

On Aug. 18 at 4:08 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury. An investigation revealed that a Toyota driven by Liliana Cecan, 59, of Princeton was driving south on Walnut Lane when it was struck by a Honda driven by Laura Chimiak, 25, of Crofton Md., which was westbound on Guyot. Chimiak was issued a summons for failure to stop or yield at a stop sign.
