Fluid on Road Near Nursery School Identified as Heating Oil

Fire department helped with cleanup on Leigh Avenue.

Princeton Township police responded to the first block of Leigh Avenue at 6:49 p.m. on Sept. 7 to investigate a report of a fluid coming out of the ground near the Princeton Nursery School.

Police identified the liquid as home heating oil, which was coming from the driveway of a house adjacent to the school. It also had leaked down the driveway and onto Leigh Avenue.

The Princeton Fire Department arrived and was able to contain the fluid with absorption pads.

The state Department of Environmental Protection was advised about the incident. No injuries occurred and no damage was reported as a result of the spill.
