Driver Loses Control, Crashes into Pole on Harrison Street

The driver of the McCaffrey's van was taken to the hospital with back and arm injuries. The van suffered extensive damage.

 

A Kendall Park woman was transported the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro on Monday afternoon she lost control of the McCaffrey's van she was driving on Harrison Street, drove up over the curb and struck a utility pole, according to Princeton Borough Police.

Patricia Nicol, 38, of Kendall Park, suffered back and arm injuries, Police Lt. Robert Currier said.

The accident happened at 2:41 p.m. near the intersection of Franklin Avenue. No other vehicles were involved. 

Nicol was driving south on Harrison Street when she lost control of the 2008 Econoline van she was driving. Witnesses said the light at the intersection had just turned from green to yellow, Currier said.

Nicol's air bag deployed when she struck the pole. There were no power outages in the area, Currier said. 

The van suffered extensive front-end damage.
