Nick Sutter was promoted to chief of police after leading the department for seven months. He stepped in as the temporary department head last year after former Chief David Dudeck resigned amid allegations of misconduct, according to nj.com.
In August, seven officers filed a lawsuit accusing Dudeck, a 30-year veteran of the force, of harassment by making inappropriate sexual remarks on numerous occasions, according to nj.com.
