Princeton Native, Volunteer for Princeton Hook & Ladder Dies

James Lindsay Crawford, 73, passed away on Oct. 11.

James Lindsay Crawford, 73, of Hamilton Square, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2013 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Princeton, he was a lifelong area resident. Lindsay was a graduate of Princeton High School Class of 1958. He was a long time employee for the Princeton Polychrome Press as a lithographer. He was a volunteer for the Princeton Hook and Ladder Fire Company and was as member of the Kendall Park Elks. Lindsay was an avid Yankee and San Francisco 49ers fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret Crawford; his brothers-in-law, Roy and Lester Carlsen; he is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol (Carlsen) Crawford; his son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Laura Crawford; his daughter, Sharon and James Cheney; his grandchildren, Kristina and Erick Crawford and Lindsay Ann Cheney; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Ann Carlsen and Margie Carlsen; his many nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Donald Bey of Scotland and Carole Sutter and Jeannie Kerridge. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.

Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, NJ.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James's memory to The Cancer Institute of New Jersey at Hamilton, 2575 Klockner Road, Hamilton, NJ 08690 and/or ALSA, 321 Norristown Rd. Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
