Thomas Barnett: Military Geo-Strategist and Political Risk Consultant

Join the American Whig-Cliosophic Society this Wednesday, April 16th, at 7:30, in the Whig Senate Chamber to welcome Dr. Thomas Barnett, in co-sponsorship with the Alexander Hamilton Society.

Dr. Barnett, one of TIME magazine's most fascinating people, has worked in US National Security since the end of the Cold War. During his time in the Defense Department, he created a famous PowerPoint brief on globalization and international security, which later turned into the NY Times best-selling book "The Pentagon's New Map: War and Peace in the 21st Century." He has since started his own consultancy firm, Barnett Consulting LLP, works as a senior consultant in the political-risk firm, the Eurasia Group, and is a chief analyst for the online strategic community, Wikistrat Ltd. 

After his presentation, Dr. Barnett will engage in a conversation with Mark Mills of the Manhattan Institute. Mr. Mills is the founder and CEO of the tech capital advisory group Digital Power Group, and author of "The Bottomless Well." He has appeared on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, CNN, NBC, and Fox News.
