The Fairy Queen

APRIL 25th – 27th, 2014
A masque by Henry Purcell
Singing, dancing, revelry inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Music Director: Julianne Baird
Production Director: Kenneth Elliott
Walter K. Gordon Theater

What better way to celebrate spring than with a musical extravaganza inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream? Scenes from the play are punctuated by extravagant musical interludes by the great English composer Henry Purcell. Actors, singers, dancers, guest soloists, and a full baroque orchestra make this a unique, not-to-be missed spectacle! Musical supervision is by Distinguished Professor of Music Dr. Julianne Baird and the production is directed by Associate Professor of Theater Dr. Kenneth Elliott.
