Princeton Fire Department - Annual Inspection Parade

Princeton Fire Department Chief Dan Tomalin, along with the members of the Princeton Fire Department are proud to announce that their annual parade and inspection will take place Saturday, May 3rd.  The parade for Princeton’s all volunteer fire department will begin at 7:00 PM at the corner of Chestnut Street and Nassau Street.  The parade will proceed down Nassau Street and conclude at the plaza in front of Monument Hall, where the Department will issue its annual service awards.

Area residents are invited to find their favorite spot along the route to enjoy the music, fire trucks and marchers that are in this year’s parade.  The public is invited to plan an evening of fun around this year’s parade in downtown Princeton.  Site seeing, dining, movies and shopping are some of the activities you can enjoy while downtown.

The three fire companies that make up the Princeton Fire Department (Princeton Engine Company #1, Princeton Hook & Ladder Company and Mercer Engine Company #3) will be marching in the parade, along with the Ladies Auxiliary of Princeton Engine Company #1.  Joining the Princeton Fire Department in the parade will be the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, an organization that also has a long and proud volunteer history in our community. The Princeton Police Department will also be represented in the parade.

This will be the Princeton Fire Departments’ 129th annual Inspection, a tradition going back to July 1884.  The Fire Department itself was started in 1788, making it one of the oldest volunteer fire departments in the country.   Come out and show your support for the volunteers that provide so much to you.  The Princeton Fire Department is currently looking for more volunteer members; if you are interested please call us at 609-497-0647.
