Dr. Lisa Damour, the director of the Center of Research on Girls, will return to Stuart to speak on, "The Roots of Resilience: Helping Girls Grow." New research shows that "grit"—the ability to recover from setbacks and cope effectively with stress—may be as essential to success as talent or intelligence. The public is welcome to join us to hear Dr. Damour and learn how parents can: help girls manage stress and embrace challenges, equip girls with resources to address obstacles and setbacks, and find a healthy balance between being a "helicopter" or a "hands-off" parent.
