City of Gold: Tomb and Temple of Ancient Cyprus

Celebrating the legacy of archaeology at Princeton, City of Gold features extraordinary loans from the Department of Antiquities, Cyprus, the Musée du Louvre and the British Museum. The exhibition examines the compelling art and archaeology of early Cyprus as seen in a single site, Polis Chrysochous – a place rich in history, architecture and art. The exhibition marks a quarter-century of excavation by the Princeton Department of Art and Archaeology, under the direction of William A. P. Childs, professor emeritus and with Joanna Smith and J. Michael Padgett, co-curators of the exhibition. A fully illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition.
