American Repertory Ballet Presents: "Behind the Music of the Ballets Russes"

Join us for a special discussion between Artistic Director Douglas Martin and music scholar and Princeton University Professor Simon Morrison.  "Behind the Music of the Ballets Russes" will provide a special insight into the music of some of the most iconic ballets premiered by Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, including Stravinsky's Firebird and Rite of Spring, and Debussy's Afternoon of a Faun.  American Repertory Ballet will perform re-imaginings of these original ballets, to the original musical scores, on March 12, 2014 at 7:30pm at McCarter Theatre.  The program will feature the world premiere of Douglas Martin'sFirebird, Martin's Rite of Spring, and Kirk Peterson's Afternoon of a Faun.

This lecture will take place in the Princeton Public Library's Community Room.  It is free and open to the public.
