Princeton Resident Eyes Iranian Presidency

Hooshang Amirahmadi is the director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University.

 

Rutgers University professor Hooshang Amirahmadi has aspirations for the Iranian presideny, according to a report on NJ.com.

Citing an original story on Buzzfeed.com, the report said that Amirahmadi, who is the director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers, had a previous attempt at candidacy turned down in 2005 by the country's Guardian Council.

Amirahmadi claimed that Iran has changed since 2005, and its leadership has changed.

Amirahmadi is a Princeton resident and American citizen who left Iran in 1975, according to the report. He also founded the American Iranian Council and has published several books, according to his biography.
