Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Accidents, Car Into House

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Township Police between Nov. 19 and Nov. 25

 

On Nov. 19 at 8:29 a.m., police investigated a motor vehicle accident with injures on Alexander Road at Faculty Road. An investigation revealed that a Mini Cooper driven by Asa Estvall, 34, of Princeton and a Honda Odyssey driven by Xudong Jiang, 45, of Princeton were driving north on Alexander in the right turn lane approaching the intersection. The Mini Cooper rear-ended the Honda as both vehicles approached the traffic light.  Two juvenile passengers in the Honda complained of head pain, but parent/guardians refused treatment for them at the scene. Both vehicles were driven away, and Estvall was issued a summons for careless driving.  

On Nov. 19 1:47 p.m., police responded to a scene of an accident after a car crashed into a utility pole in the 100 block of Leabrook Lane. Patrols found that a Honda driven Karl Morrison, 76, of Linwood Circle drove off the road and hit the pole, but it wasn't clear why. No one was injured. The vehicle was towed away and Morrison was issued a summons for careless driving.

On Nov. 20 at 1:44 p.m. police responded to an accident without injuries on Washington Road near Faculty Road. An investigation revealed that a Dodge Durango driven by Christine Toth, 40, of Hopewell and a Lincoln Town Car driven by Wanzhen Yang, 40, of Lawrenceville were driving north towards the intersection. As traffic slowed, the Lincoln stopped and was hit by the Dodge. Both vehicles were towed away and Toth was issued a summons for careless driving.  

On Nov. 21 at 1:40 p.m., police responded to an accident with no injuries on Bunn Drive near Herrontown Road. An investigation revealed that Sheila Johnson, 70, of Trenton was driving her Hyundai Elantra northbound on Bunn Drive and stopped in traffic to make a left turn. While she was stopped, she was rear ended by a Subaru Forester driven by Marla Delikoura, 17, of Princeton. Both vehicles were driven from the scene, and Delikoura was issued a summons for careless driving

On Nov. 21 at 8:01 p.m., a caller in the 100 block of Quaker Road reported that she had returned from the store within the past 30 minutes and left her vehicle door open. When she returned, she found her purse and cell phone missing. The value of the items was not immediately known. No similar incidents were reported. 

On Nov. 21 at 9:37 p.m., a house sitter in the first block of Braeburn Drive reported that sometime since Nov. 18, someone had entered the house. Police discovered forced entry at the back of the house. It was not immediately clear what was taken. An investigation continues. 

On Nov. 22 at 2:49 a.m., police discovered a wrecked vehicle in the woods off Bunn Drive near Poor Farm Road. The vehicle was damaged and both airbags had deployed. No one was in the area. An investigation revealed that the vehicle had possibly been stolen out of Princeton Borough. Borough police were notified. 

On Nov. 22 at 2:43 p.m., a woman in the 100 block of Redding Circle reported that someone hit her in the face and shoulder following an argument about her using too many dryers at once. The victim was not injured and police could not locate the alleged suspect.  

On Nov. 23 at 7:59 p.m. police investigated an accident at State Road and Cherry Hill Road with no injures. An investigation revealed that a Jeep Cherokee driven by Samuel Sidique, 29, of Hamilton and a Nissan driven by Paul Nolan, 55 of Belle Mead were both stopped at the red light on State Rd. When the light turned green, Sidique rear-ended Nolan's vehicle. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Police said Sidique had $1145 in outstanding warrants from Scotch Plains. Sidique was arrested and he later posted $1145 bail and released on his own recognizance. He was also issued summonses for careless driving and driving while suspended.

On Nov. 24 at 11:14 a.m., a caller in the 100 block of Snowden Lane reported that sometime between Nov. 10-Nov. 23, someone had used their personal information to open a credit line and charge more than $13,800. The credit card company is investigating the incident and the resident won't be billed for the fraudulent charges. 

On Nov. 24 at 3:07 p.m., Alexandra Akselrad, 77, of the 900 block of Lawrenceville Road reported that she had accidentally driven her car into and through the wall of her house and that a wrecker was on the way. Akselrad complained of hand pain but refused treatment. Building inspectors from the Township were notified. An investigation continues. 

On Nov. 25 at 2:49 p.m., a resident in the first block of Coniston Court reported that sometime around Nov. 2, someone had obtained their bank account information and withdrawn an unknown amount of money from the account. The bank is conducting an investigation.
