Man Dies When Tree Limb Falls on Him

The investigation revealed a heavy, falling 15' tree limb cut high overhead with a chainsaw by another worker, struck him.

A 40-year-old Ewing man died on Woodland Drive Sunday afternoon after a tree branch fell on him, causing severe head trauma.

Jose Delcid was pronounced dead at the scene. He was an employee of Greenway Lawncare and Landscaping in Ewing. 

According to Princeton Police, police officers and members of Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad responded to a private residence shortly after noon for a 911 call reporting that a man had fallen from a tree.

Delcid was found unconscious and unresponsive on the ground underneath a tree approximately 130' tall. 

The investigation revealed a heavy, falling 15’ tree limb cut high overhead with a chainsaw by another worker, struck him. The tree limb broke free from an orange safety a rope and fell to the ground. The victim suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
