Woodbridge 4 Mayor Kickoff Fundraiser Shows Promising Momentum

On Tuesday, June 26th, Princeton Mayoral Candidate Richard Woodbridge held a successful fundraiser, setting the stage for a competitive race to the November Election.

On Tuesday, June 26th, Princeton Mayoral Candidate Richard Woodbridge held his kickoff fundraiser at the home of Former Township Councilwoman Carol Wojciechowicz. The fundraiser was hosted in partnership with Geoff Aton, the Republican Candidate for Council. With a bipartisan crowd of well over 100 people in attendance, the fundraiser put Dick Woodbridge’s Campaign on the right foot in the beginning of a race that is guaranteed to be highly competitive.

Dick addressed the large group of supporters about his hopes for the campaign. “As many of you know, this is a critical time for Princeton, as well as the rest of the state. Our consolidation into a United Princeton will take a lot of time and effort, all of which I am ready to contribute. My service on both Princeton Borough’s Council and on Princeton Township’s Committee makes me uniquely qualified and knowledgeable to lead Princeton through this challenging time in our history”.

Richard Woodbridge is the only candidate running for Mayor in Princeton who has served on both Township Committee and Borough Council. His prior governmental experience gives him a unique sense of how each town works and operates, as well as how they will both best operate together. Apparently, you printed a Press Release without editing it. Surely you're not passing off the last paragraph above, with phrase "visit our website," as reporting. This should be presented as a letter.

I totally disagree that the plan to build apartments on the hospital site is bad for Princeton. ForRead More the many people who drive into Princeton every day from neighboring townships to work, these apartments will offer an alternative that allows them to walk or cycle instead. Less traffic is good for everybody. Residents in these apartments will also support Princeton businesses and contribute to Princeton's tax base. They will make the town more vibrant. The plan has been substantially revised to better fit in with the neighborhood. In fact it makes the neighborhood more open by adding several new through streets and a park on the corner of Witherspoon and Franklin. 56 affordable units are provided in both big buildings on every level and facing every direction. This is a fantastic opportunity for tenants of income-restricted properties in Princeton. These apartments would be beneficial anywhere in Princeton. They will increase the value of surrounding homes and provide new housing opportunities. Neighbors are entitled to voice their protest, but they will reap the greatest benefit from living next to a modern, well-maintained residential property instead of the much larger, uglier hospital building, which generated far more traffic and regular shipments of biohazardous waste.
