House of Cupcakes Returns to "Cupcake Wars"

The Witherspoon Street bakery has been selected as a "fan favorite" and will compete against three other fan favorite bakers in an upcoming television episode.

House of Cupcakes on Witherspoon Street will return to "Cupcake Wars" on the Food Network.

The bakery has been named one of the four top fan favorites in a recent Facebook contest and owners Ruthie and Ron Bzdewka will soon head back to compete in the national bake-off featuring the country's top cupcake chefs.

The couple won "Cupcake Wars" a few years ago, launching the local bakery to fame.

"We're a fan favorite and we're going back" Ruthie Bzdewka said. "We thank our fans so much because without them we would never be a fan favorite and never be going back. We love Princeton and we love all our customers because they're fabulous."

She said they don't yet know where or when the show will film.

Earlier this month Ron Bzdewka was among 12 contestents featured in a Facebook contest to send four of the most popular bakers back to the show.  Within three days, Bzdewka had garnered 5,895 votes and was in second place. Food Network closed the poll and Ruthie Bzdewka said there were "unexpected problems with the contest."

The Facebook voting pages revealed fan accusations of vote-buying, phony Facebook accounts and outright cheating by both the top vote getters- Hollis Wilder, owner of Sweet! By Holly in Florida and Bzdewka.

Bzdewka denied the accusations.
