Recreation Foundation’s Fall Ball a Win for Area Youth
This past Saturday, the Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley held their annual Fall Ball, the largest fundraiser for the organization. It was a huge success, bringing in thousands in donations.
The event, held at the Hopewell Valley Golf Course, was attended by over 200 community members.
The theme “Light Up the Night” celebrated the lighting of the new, all-purpose turf field at Hopewell Valley Central High School, which will be used for field hockey, football, marching band, lacrosse, soccer, and other school and community events. The highlight of the event was a surprise fireworks display that truly “lit up the night” for attendees.

The event also included dinner, a flaming coffee bar, dancing with music provided by a DJ, as well as a silent and live auction. Auction items included Giants and Eagles tickets, a beach vacation home, front row seats to Hopewell Valley Central High School’s graduation, as well as a bike package from Hart’s Cyclery of Pennington.
The bike package included a GT Aggressor Mountain Bike, a personalized Guru Dynamic Fit for a Road Bike, a guided bike tour of the Lawrence-Hopewell Trail, and a Picnic Lunch. The package received a high bid of $1,000 and may be matched for a total of $2,000. The proceeds will go towards further improvements to the Lawrence-Hopewell Trail system.
