Princeton ArtWalk is Tonight

ArtWalk affords visitors a lively and convenient way to discover the visual arts scene with an array of venues open to the public free of charge.

 

Princeton ArtWalk, a series of Thursday evenings highlighting the rich array of visual arts destinations available in downtown Princeton, will be held tonight, May 2 from 5 to 8 p.m.

First launched in 2011, Princeton ArtWalk is now a regular feature on the community’s cultural calendar. Anchored by the Princeton University Art Museum and the Arts Council of Princeton’s Paul Robeson Center, ArtWalk affords visitors a lively and convenient way to discover the visual arts scene with an array of venues open to the public free of charge.

It offers a cultural sampler, an opportunity to enjoy music, entertainment, and refreshments, as well as a chance to rediscover the dynamic scene in downtown Princeton.

Venues include the Arts Council of Princeton’s Paul Robeson Center, the Bernstein Gallery of the Woodrow Wilson School, Cranbury Station Gallery, Firestone Library, the Historical Society of Princeton, Labyrinth Books, the Lewis Center for the Arts, Morven Museum and Garden, the Princeton Public Library, the Princeton University Art Museum and Small World Coffee.

Tonight's activities include art trivia with Princeton University graduate students at the Princeton University Art Museum, the opening reception for the exhibition “Mimesis” curated by Thaddeus Erdahl at the Arts Council of Princeton’s Paul Robeson Center, a Princeton University senior art exhibition at the Lewis Center for the Arts, and a meet and greet with collector Roy Pedersen at Morven Museum and Garden.

“Princeton is often considered to be one of the most attractive downtown arts districts in the state and ArtWalk has emerged as a golden opportunity to discover the vitality of the downtown area.” Art Museum Director James Steward said. 

Downtown parking is available in parking garages located on Spring, Chambers and Hulfish Streets.
