The Transition Task Force's Public Safety Subcommittee meets at the Princeton Township Muncipal Complex, 4 p.m.

An IRS Representative will present "How the New Tax Laws Benefit Small Business Owners" at the Princeton Public Library, Community Room, 6:45 p.m., Free.

Parents, educators, and professionals are invited to learn about about the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes for reading, spelling and math. There will be a discussion on the possibility of opening a Seasonal Learning Clinic in the Princeton area. 7 p.m, Free. 

 

Wednesday

William Allen, emeritus professor of political philosophy at Michigan State University, will give a talk titled "George Washington and U.S. Foreign Policy" at 4:30 p.m. at Princeton University, Lewis Library, Room 120, Free. 

Jasha M. Levi, author of 'Requiem for a Country' and "The Last Exile"  speak about his experiences in Bosnia throughout 1941 during World War II and again the 1990s. Princeton Public Library, Community Room, 7 p.m., Free. 

Princeton Engineering Education for Kids will show children how to assemble and create a Lego Mindstorm robotic device at the Princeton Public Library. There will be two separate sessions, one for children ages 6 and 7 and another for children ages 8 and old. Each age-specific session is limited to 20 children. The Transition Task Force meets at Princeton Borough Hall at 7 p.m. 

Princeton Regional Schools' Board of Education will hold a Budget Workshop at 7 p.m. at Valley Road School.

Learn about the New Facebook Timeline as Social Media consultant Hilary Morris will walk you through the new Facebook Timeline step-by-step and show you how to make the most of the new features it provides. 7 p.m., Princeton Public Library, Technology Center. Princeton Day School presents "The Secret Garden," a play that tells the story of 11-year-old Mary Lennox, a girl orphaned in India who returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden. 7:30 p.m. $12, $10 for students. 

 

Friday

Lunch and Learn with retired journalist and writer Harry Kendall as he speaks about the Underground Railroad and the fugitive slave insurrection in Christiana, Pa., the subject of his forthcoming novel, “Truth Crushed to Earth.” Princeton Public Library, Community Room, 11:30 a.m., Free. 

Kristin Windmuller, Princeton University graduate student, presents a talk on Ghanaian Gold: Objects from the Treasury of the Asantehene at Princeton University Art Museum, 12:30 p.m., Free. 

Lisa Terry, who plays viola da gamba for the Dryden Ensemble, and guest harpsichordist Joanne Kong give a demonstration of the three sonatas for harpsichord and viola da gamba by Johann Sebastian Bach. Discussion follows. Princeton Public Library, Community Room, 4 p.m, Free. 

In honor of Black History Month, the YWCA Princeton offers a West African Percussion Workshop. Dave Merritt of The Drum & Dance Learning Center in Lawrenceville will teach basic technique, how to create the different tones and traditional rhythms on djembe, dounoun & bell. Open to all ages and levels of experience. 7 p.m., YWCA Members $20; Non-Member $25.

Stuart Country Day School of The Sacred Heart presents the musical "Hairspray," a seemingly fun-loving play set in the 1960s that explores prejudice in many forms. 7:15 p.m. $12.

Playwright Arthur Miller's “Death of a Salesman” follows the waning days in the life of Willy Loman, a simple man who has striven for the American Dream as a traveling salesman while fighting economic forces and his own personal demons, MCCC's Kelsey Theatre, 8 p.m., tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for senior citizens, and $12 for children and students.  

The Hun School of Princeton presents Bat Boy: The Musical in the Saks Theater, 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.
