Princeton Recreation Department will partner with The Food Trust of Philadelphia to design and implement a model concession menu and practice that provides appealing and nutritious food and beverage options to all Community Park Pool patrons, but particularly to youth.

All menu changes will be subtle but consistent with national youth nutrition guidelines and will be achieved through small shifts in marketing strategy, ingredient replacements and by introducing the pool patrons to new food alternatives.

“I’m confident that this grant will produce a concession model that will strongly address nutrition concerns while maintaining many of the menu items our pool users have come to love and expect," said Ben Stentz, executive director of the Princeton Recreation Department. "This project is yet another reason to be excited about the new Community Park Pool.”

The Food Trust is a Philadelphia based non-profit organization, founded in 1992, with the mission of ensuring that everyone has access to affordable and nutritious food.
