Former Valley Road School Tenants Get Temporary Reprieve

They won't have to move until September 30, the school district decided on Tuesday.

The occupants of the former Valley Road School will not have to vacate the property as of June 30, the Princeton Board of Education decided on Tuesday. 

Members of Princeton Community Television, one of the groups that occupies the former school, attended Tuesday's school district meeting and said they were pleased to learn they have at least a temporary repreive. 

The Board of Education is evaluating what to do with the former school building, especially as budgets become tight and the district only has set budget funds to do safety-related capital improvements in the district next year.

Two local groups are expected to submit proposals to the Board of Education by June 1 for what to do with the former school building property. 

The Facilities Committee plans to discuss the proposals at a meeting on June 13.
