Arts & Transit Construction Update for This Week

The following updates were provided by Princeton Police.

The following is an Arts & Transit project update for this week:

  • Alexander Street between University Place and College Road remains closed.
  • Street parking outside the Wawa remains closed.
  • Due to utility work in University Place, the north side street parking adjacent the Berlind Theater lawn is closed for construction. 
  • Tree removal along the Alexander Street west side and on the Berlind Theater lawn continues intermittently. 
  • PSEG is scheduled to start the temp overhead wire installation on Alexander Street west side and on Berlind Theater lawn to Wawa.
  • The temporary sidewalk along the west side of Alexander Street is complete. There will be intermitting adjustment to the sidewalks as the work progresses.
  • Trucking off-site of demolition debris is winding down, and excavated spoils continues from both the north and south construction zones.
  • Trucking on-site of fill material continues.
  • East side Alexander Street parking and sidewalk remains closed.
  • Underground electric utility work in Alexander Street may begin this week north of the previous storm work area. A police detail will be scheduled.
  • The temporary station trailer is scheduled to be placed next to the railroad tracks on Wednesday morning at 2AM, during the trains’ daily shutdown period.
