NJTLT Receives $20,000 from McGraw-Hill FCU at NJTLT Gala in Princeton

April 4, 2014; TRENTON, NJ/PRINCETON, NJ – Demonstrating its continuing commitment to empowering and educating students, The VOICE Foundation, the charitable giving association of McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union (FCU) of East Windsor, New Jersey, donated $20,000 to the National Junior Tennis & Learning of Trenton (NJTLT) at its 21st Annual NJTLT Gala recently held in Princeton, New Jersey.  The event raised over $340,000. McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union was honored at the event as an “Outstanding Corporation” in recognition for its many years of providing financial and volunteer support to NJTLT and its programs.

The funds donated will assist the NJTLT’s Academic Creative Engagement (ACE) Initiative that is offered after-school and during NJTLT’s summer camp at Cadwalader Park. The program combines tennis instruction with academic enrichment in the areas of math, literacy and nutrition. College and career readiness skills, as well as technology education, are also integrated into the program.

McGraw-Hill FCU is committed to supporting financial wellness education programs and initiatives that benefit young adults, consumers, and educators in the New Jersey/New York area. The opportunity to extend the credit union’s commitment to financial education by supporting the NJTLT’s ACE and Nutrition, Education, Tennis, and Support (NETS) initiatives was welcomed by Shawn Gilfedder, McGraw-Hill FCU President/CEO and NJTLT Board member.

“Receiving recognition for our long-term relationship and support of NJTLT is an honor that I share with everyone from the VOICE Foundation and McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union. The VOICE Foundation and NJTLT share the common goal of promoting initiatives and programs that support the important role that education and fitness play in the intellectual growth and future success of young people. We believe that it is our duty to support the educational programs offered by the NJTLT for the children in the greater Trenton area and other communities across New Jersey,” said Mr. Gilfedder.

The mission of National Junior Tennis & Learning of Trenton is to strengthen the character and enhance the lives of youth by providing opportunities and instruction in nutrition, education, and tennis. For more information, visit www.njtloftrenton.org.
