MCCC Celebrates 25 Years of Student Scholarship Support During "Spring Into Student Success!" Fundraiser March 27

WEST WINDSOR – Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) Foundation Board of Directors will celebrate 25 years of community support for student scholarships during the “Spring Into Student Success!” fundraiser on Thursday, March 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mercer Oaks, 725 Village Road West, Princeton Junction.

Proceeds from the festive event support student scholarships. Event co-chairs are Nina Melker, president of the MCCC Foundation board and senior vice president at Hopewell Valley Community Bank, and Mercer County Freeholder Pasquale “Pat” Colavita Jr.

“Twenty-five years is certainly a milestone, one that represents a community that values and supports a quality, affordable college education,” Melker said. “Through the collective efforts of those who support this annual event, we can provide the financial resources a student may need to make their dream of a college education a reality.”

Each year the MCCC Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships to high-achieving and financially-qualified students, including non-traditional students, part-time students and single parents. Many students benefit from endowed or named scholarships established by donors through the Foundation.

“The support the Foundation provides is vital to many students,” Colavita said. “This year’s event should be the biggest and best yet, showcasing the generosity of the people and businesses of Mercer County and their contribution toward student success.”

The fundraiser features a silent auction and awards presentation honoring three community partners, as well as deserving students who have earned Foundation scholarships. Musical entertainment will be provided by Mercer student musicians. Refreshments include hors d’oeuvres, a light buffet, an open bar, coffee and desserts. MCCC Horticulture students are creating the centerpieces.

Businesses and community members are invited to participate through corporate sponsorships, advertisements in the program book, silent auction donations, and tickets to the event. Tickets are $120 each, or two for $225. For more information, visit www.mccc.edu/give, e-mail foundation@mccc.edu or call (609) 570-3659.
