Fun at Flavors of Fall

A fall feast prepared by TPC Jasna Polana Executive Chef Ryan Daniels drew in 75 guests to the Miele Inc. showroom on Thursday, Nov. 7th as United Way of Greater Mercer County hosted their 3rd annual culinary event. This year’s theme, Flavors of Fall, benefited the United Aging and Disability Partnership (UADP).

Highlights from the three course menu of savory dishes crafted by the skilled Jasna Polana culinary team included braised short ribs with a parsnip puree and butternut squash soup. Guests sampled delicate appetizers paired with selections from the wine bar as Chef Ryan mingled through the crowd discussing tips and tricks of the trade before preparing the main courses in the studio style kitchen. Monitors captured every chop, dash and sauté giving the event a sophisticated Food Network atmosphere.

“Everything was fantastic,” said guest and volunteer Michelle Watson, “we created a really fun and memorable event that benefited a great program.”

CEO Herb Klein, addressed the room sharing that the program that not only provides a higher-quality of life for seniors, but also provides cost savings to the state and health care system.

“The programs total economic impact to Mercer County is $13,661,000, with the current average Medicaid cost for a bed in a nursing home at $71,500 a year. UADP costs $1,801 per consumer per year for a savings of $69,699” said Klein.
